Conference to examine position of women in London’s economy
Event: Women in London’s Economy Conference Date: Thursday, 13 January 2005 Time: Conference takes place 2.00 - 5.50pm in Chamber, Reception takes place 6-8pm in London’s Living Room. Both events are open to media
Venue: City Hall, The Queens Walk, London SE1 2AA.
A conference to examine the role of women in London’s economy is being held at City Hall. This will see the launch of new Greater London Authority Report, incorporating new research from GLA Economics on the position of women in London’s economy.
The conference of leading businesswomen, policy makers and opinion formers will discuss how to address the issues raised by the research, including the gender pay gap, the implications on London’s economy of discrimination against women and the opportunities for women to shape the future economic success of London.
Speakers include: Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London; Julie Mellor, Chair of Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC); Mary Reilly, Chair of the CBI London Regional Council; Kay Carberry, Assistant General Secretary at the TUC and Claire Logie, Leader of Women in Business Programme at Royal Bank of Scotland.
